Today is International Women’s Day, a day to celebrate women’s achievement, raise awareness against bias and take action for equality.

Read these inspiring stories from some of the women supported by Grace Eyre.

Mellie’s story:

Mellie has been working with Grace Eyre’s Job Coach to sell her homemade jewellery at the Open Market studio and shop, using Instagram for marketing, and creating her own business cards.

“Making my first sale was my biggest achievement, I was very pleased.”

 Bobby’s story:

Bobby contacted the Travel Buddy team as she wanted to learn the route from her home to college, where she studies music production.

Over ten weeks she worked on learning the route, learning how to cross roads, staying focused whilst out in the community and using a mobile phone to stay in contact with mum.

The training has given me independence and freedom.”

Sophie’s story:

Since joining the Grace Eyre Friendship Group, Sophie has overcome personal anxieties and Zoom challenges, and enhanced her leadership and communication skills so much, that she now runs her own Karaoke session!
