Learn to travel around your local community to see your family and friends when you want to!
It might feel like quite a big step, but our Travel Buddy team can work with you and help you gain the confidence to get on a bus by yourself and make that journey.
Through Travel Buddy, Grace Eyre can support independent travel in Brighton & Hove and – from 2025 – West Sussex with an initial focus on Worthing, Chichester and Crawley.

Travel Buddy offers 1:1 bespoke, in-person travel training to promote independence – based on 20 sessions of up to 4 hours in duration (average time taken) and includes:
The trainee will need a bus pass. Other packages are available depending on individual ability – contact us to discuss your needs.
We can also deliver fun and engaging workshops to schools and colleges. Each workshop (for up to 15 people) is full of guidance, tips and advice on travelling in independently. Workshops also include interactive problem solving and role-play of real life travel scenarios.
Our three-part workshop (3 x 90-minute sessions) gives a comprehensive insight into preparing, planning and executing a journey independently.
Participants get the chance to meet and speak to a real bus driver. They explore different social scenarios through a series of drama role plays. The event aims to break down barriers and ease anxieties around travelling on the bus. It helps to train bus drivers on how best to help people too.
