Work-Able: Introducing Grace Eyre’s new employment campaign

The Our Voices team at Grace Eyre is proudly user-led, with 94% of our team being people with a learning disability or autistic people.
Using our lived experience, we work to influence Grace Eyre and wider society to become more inclusive, accessible and responsive to the voices of people with a learning disability and autistic people.
Our ambassador advisory board is fundamental to this, ensuring lived experience leadership is front and centre to all our work.
We are focused on four main strands of work:
Our Charter sits at the heart of everything we do.
As a user-led team, we champion the Charter and make sure the people we support, staff and partners understand what it means in practice.
We work to ensure that the values and commitments within the Charter are shaped by lived experience and reflected in everyday decisions and actions across Grace Eyre.
Co-production is how we move towards being truly led by lived experience.
We work to embed co-production across Grace Eyre, making sure that people with a learning disability and autistic people are involved in shaping the decisions that affect them.
Our role is to promote good co-production, build understanding and support colleagues to put it into practice in meaningful ways.
Our campaigns are driven by the issues that matter most to people with a learning disability and autistic people.
We lead long-term campaigns, such as Work-Able, which aims to remove barriers to employment, and we respond to emerging issues such as benefits, social care and disability discrimination.
We also proudly support key awareness and celebration movements including Learning Disability Pride Month, Autism Acceptance Week, Neurodiversity Celebration Week and My Vote My Voice.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to be an active citizen and have their voice heard.
We support people to understand and engage with politics and democracy through accessible election hustings, “Write to Your MP” events, and awareness campaigns.
We also help people build their understanding of local decision-making, access local services, and develop the skills and confidence to create change in their communities.
