Entries are now open for our cake baking photo competition marking Grace Eyre Woodhead’s birthday. Grace was born on 24 February 1864. She was a social care pioneer who started our charity in 1898.
People are invited to submit a photo of themselves and a cake, cupcakes or favourite dessert that they have baked.
The winning entry will receive a two day hire of Grace Eyre’s beach hut on Hove promenade in July or August 2021.
All you need to do is:
Photos must be in good quality digital format (large file from your phone, 300 dpi).
Following shortlisting and then a public vote on Grace Eyre’s Facebook page, the winning image will be announced on Friday 5 March 2021.

Image(s) (high resolution – large file from your phone, 300 dpi), together with the relevant entry form, must be submitted digitally via the online form on our website.
The closing date is Sunday 21 February 2021 at 11:59 pm. Entries received after this time will not be accepted.
Grace Eyre will then put together an album of all shortlisted images, which will be put to open vote on our Facebook page on Wednesday 24 February 2021.
The open vote will close on Wednesday 3 March 2021. The image which receives the most public votes will be declared the winner on Friday 5 March 2021.
The winner will be notified directly and featured on Grace Eyre’s website and social media channels.

To enter this competition you must bake a cake, cupcakes or your favourite dessert and take a photo. You must own the copyright of the photo. The Grace Eyre Foundation accepts no liability if an image is unlawfully reproduced.
Photos must contain a person/people and a cake, cupcakes or a dessert that they have baked.
Entrants must ensure that everyone featured in the photograph has given their consent to be included and used for the purpose of the competition. By submitting your photograph you are confirming you have the required permission.
Entrants will retain the copyright of their image but in entering the competition they agree to allow Grace Eyre to reproduce, enlarge, publish, exhibit (print and digital) their image in any future promotional materials. Images submitted may also be featured in the local press.
By submitting a photo, entrants are giving us their permission to contact them about the competition. The winner will be notified directly and will be featured on Grace Eyre’s website and social media sites.
Grace Eyre’s decision on the winning entry is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the judging and competition organisation.
