It’s Carers Week: 9-15 June 2025
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
A carer is anyone who looks after a family member or friend who has a disability, mental or physical illness, addiction, or who needs extra help as they grow older.
It is important that we recognise the contribution carers make to families and local communities, workplaces and society.
Carers need to be recognised for the difficulties they are experiencing, respected for all they are doing, provided with information, and given the support they need to care safely.

Carers Festival 2025
We are excited to be attending Carers Festival 2025.
Carers Festival is the largest event for carers in the city. The event is being hosted by the Carers Centre for Brighton and Hove on Wednesday 11th June at Brighton Open Market.
Come along to find out what support is available to unpaid carers in the city and enjoy free activities and refreshments.
We will be on hand to provide information about all of our services and, in particular, our Active Lives day services. With Active Lives people take part in a range of activities including creative sessions, sport activities and courses to gain employment and life skills.
We will also be happy to share information on ways that we support people to live independently such as through housing and building travel skills. We plan to have a particular focus on the various ways we can support young people’s transition to adult services.
No need to book, just come along on the day.

Free tickets for carers
Purple Productions is Grace Eyre’s events team. They produce events for and by adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, including our monthly Purple Clubhouse and Karaoke night in Brighton.
