We celebrated the season at our annual Grace Eyre Christmas Concert on Thursday 12th December 2024.
Together with over 150 friends at St Nicholas’ Church in Brighton, we raised £2,406 for The Big Build, the exciting renovation project that will transform our building.
This year’s concert connected us with our past, present and future.
We were delighted to welcome a range of wonderful performers, including Brighton Girls School choir, the Grace Eyre Performance Groups, pianist Tim Shallcross and Stuart Leaney.
The past
The fantastic choir from Brighton Girls celebrated our heritage. Brighton Girls is an independent school that our founder, Grace Eyre Woodhead, attended over 100 years ago.
Rosie McColl, Head of Brighton Girls, said:
“We’re really pleased to be performing at Grace Eyre’s Christmas Concert this year and proud of our trailblazer alumna, Grace Eyre Woodhead. Our school values (to be kind and bold), reflect the values Grace Eyre embodied a century ago; her community spirit, her commitment to celebrating diversity and championing difference live on in our school. Our shared history makes this partnership a very special one.”
The present
Dance, drama and music by the Grace Eyre Performance Groups celebrated the positive educational and creative activities offered through our Active Lives service. The Performance Groups provide opportunities for creative self-expression and storytelling from new perspectives.
The future
The Big Build looks ahead to a bright future.
Grace Eyre is a charity that supports adults with a learning disability and autistic people across Sussex to live their lives the way they want to. We enable access to better housing, support and employment opportunities.
The Big Build will provide an inspiring and inclusive space at the heart of the city where people can learn new skills, gain confidence and increase their independence.
If you would like to help us make it happen, please donate and make a real difference.
A big thank you to all our supporters and season’s greetings to you all.
