Support The Big Build

Donate now to support The Big Build

The Big Build will cost £3.95 million. We need to find up to a third of this through fundraising, so we need everyone in our community to know about and support this project.

The Big Build is a big challenge, but we know the people of Brighton & Hove can go big when they want to! We’re already on our way – see where we are against the target on our Big Build thermometer.

Look out for more information coming very soon about our exciting fundraising campaign and more ways to support the Big Build and help transform local lives.

Our Plans

Our plans for the renovation, which were approved in full by Brighton & Hove City Council in 2022, will honour our building status as a ‘building of interest’ and maintain the beauty of the external building…. but we will revolutionise the inside!

We will balance business and creativity to build a space designed to really work for people with a learning disability, while promoting more integration with our local community.

The building will be developed into:

  • Flexible community and session spaces
  • Ground floor multi use theatre/arts space & café
  • 8 separate flats for independent living
  • Accessible office accommodation.
  • A green-focused, sustainable building

All our services will continue to run while the building work is taking place and we will locate to alternative sites where Active Lives can continue to offer its broad timetable of activities. We know that this short period of change is going to lead to massive long-term benefits for everyone, saving the building and creating future income for Grace Eyre.

We look forward to sharing this journey with you and updating on progress as we go forward.

Huge thanks to the following organisations for their financial support
