We are heartbroken to announce that we have had to make the very difficult decision to not go ahead with our Big Build – the ambitious project to refurbish the building in Hove that has been our base since 1950.
Current economic circumstances, including unsupported increases to National Insurance and the Real Living Wage, costing us over £700k, plus Brighton & Hove City Council’s decision to offer us a 0% increase in funding this year, to provide services to hundreds of people with a learning disability and/or autism, have created the most difficult financial environment of the last 15 years. Our priority has to be ensuring continued delivery of all our services.
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, big or small. We will be in touch with those who have donated but please be assured that any money we are given will continue to be used to build better futures for people with a learning disability and autistic people, wherever that is.
We are and always have been far more than one building and, wherever we are, we are still Grace Eyre, delivering high quality, user-led, innovative services, events and support.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
