Zena is one of our Pioneer Arts artists.

Zena has a distinctive approach to creating art that is easily recognisable. She often starts with simple shapes and layers them on top of each other to create a final, complex piece.

As she works, she moves across the page, adding layers of colour. Zena is keen on a lively and bright colour palette, and typically uses coloured pencils and watercolours.

Her work is characterised by unique shapes and repetitive patterns that seem to radiate and spiral out from the page. Nature and animals are common themes in her art, even when incorporated within repetitive patterns.

Zena typically works on A2 paper as her canvas and has been creating art at Grace Eyre for many years. Zena is also often at the art shop buying new supplies to enhance her artwork.

She was over the moon that her design had been chosen for Grace Eyre’s staff birthday cards.

Zena said:

“I like colouring and drawing my own pictures. I make up my own pictures from my head. I like different shapes like circles and squares. I like rainbow colours. I like doing lots of colouring and art at home and at Grace Eyre, which I enjoy and find relaxing. Art makes me feel happy.”
