
Dan is autistic with moderate learning disabilities. When upset, Dan suffers with high anxiety and receives support to help him manage this so he can live his life as independently as possible.
Before coming to Grace Eyre Housing, Dan was supported to live independently in the private rented sector with a landlord who unfortunately had little knowledge about his needs. Sadly, Dan was placed with other neighbours who displayed anti-social behaviour causing him great distress and anxiety impacting further on his disabilities and mental health.
As a safeguarding concern joint working with social services and support services from Grace Eyre, Dan was placed in a flat managed by Grace Eyre Housing to help prevent him becoming homeless. Here he receives an enhanced housing service which is able to manage his needs with providing a responsive support service to ensure his independence. Dan has been living in his flat for some time now and enjoys his daily living and independence.
Grace Eyre Housing is a unique and specialist enhanced housing support provider, who tenancies to people with learning disabilities and mental health needs. They work with other landlords who are happy to work in partnership with them, to manage and provide a tailored service to meet the needs of tenants like Dan where staff are trained, and equipped to deal with difficulties arising with tenants who fall outside of general needs housing management.
