The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 sets out the duties Grace Eyre has as an employer and the duties you have as an employee.
“It shall be the duty of every employer to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work of all his employees.”
“It shall be the duty of every employee while at work to take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself and of other persons who may be affected by his acts or omissions at work.”
To underpin these responsibilities, we have an overarching general Health and Safety Policy, which sets out the roles and responsibilities within Grace Eyre.
This is supported by some specific Health & Safety Policies and Procedures, including First Aid, Lone Working, Stress, etc.

Health & Safety documents can be found on the “S”drive>Health&Safety.
Your basic Health & Safety training can be found on IHASCO (log in details are sent to you). Additional training documents such as Induction Health & Safety Training, Lone Working Training and Fire Warden Training can also be found on IHASCO & “S”drive>Health&Safety>Training.
If you have an accident, incident or near miss at work, it is important that you report this to you manager and complete an Accident & Incident report, which can be found on Salesforce.
Make sure you fill out the report whilst everything is fresh in your mind. An investigation will be completed by your manager (a legal requirement) and any subsequent findings would be actioned. We can learn a lot about any situation, including near misses, incidents or accidents that occur in the workplace. New processes and procedures can be put in place to stop such instances happening again, keeping staff safe.
