One to One Meetings (and Probationary Period)

You are on probation for the first 6 months of your career with us. Your manager will work through an initial induction process which is then followed by a formal probationary review. Your manager will support you to achieve the standards required of you in your new role. If they feel that you have not reached a satisfactory standard, then your probationary period may be extended giving you more time to achieve targets set for you.

Supervision is a two-way process and should be carried out every 4-6 weeks for full time staff and up to every 8 weeks for part time. Please refer to policy Performance Management HR03. It is a quiet time for you to discuss your work in a safe environment.

The agenda for supervision will include:

  • Review previous meeting records
  • Review the work, agree and record action plans
  • Review any other projects, agree and record action plans
  • Developmental, training and personal issues relating to work
  • Sharing of information/briefing
  • Agree agenda for next meeting
  • Record the meeting

Annual reflection

Your annual reflection should be carried out once a year. Your line manager will meet with you to discuss your impact and achievements over the last year.
