Who we are: The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity based in Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex community that has been working with people with a Learning Disability and autistic people since 1898. Our mission is to work towards being led by people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people to deliver high-quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. The people we support tell us that they want “good support from kind and friendly people” – so that is what we are looking for!
Introduction to the role:
We support 13 individuals with Learning Disabilities and autistic people, who live in a block of flats in Brighton. Each person we support lives in their own self-contained flat. They receive personalised commissioned support based on their assessed needs.
Brief outline of the role:
The people that we support at Mantell House value their independence and their ability to make their own decisions. They have a range of practical and emotional support needs.
Some individuals require emotional support and there may be occasions where staff are involved in crisis management.
Mantell House is staffed 24 hours a day, with shift patterns based on the needs of the people we support.
There is a 6-week rolling rota. The shift pattern includes morning, afternoon, evening shifts and some weekends.
One staff member sleeps in each night.
