Brief outline of the role:
We’re excited to be launching a new Grace Eyre Hub in partnership with the 39 Youth Club – a welcoming drop-in space for adults with learning disabilities and autistic people. As a Support Volunteer, you’ll help create a friendly and inclusive environment where individuals feel valued, supported, and empowered to try new things.
You’ll be supporting a variety of fun and meaningful activities depending on your interests – such as gardening, cooking, and arts & crafts – as well as offering a listening ear and general guidance to those who pop in. Whether you’re passionate about a particular skill or just love being around people, this is a great opportunity to make a real difference while building people’s confidence and skills.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion:
No applicant or volunteer will be treated less favourably than another on grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation, marriage & civil partnership or pregnancy & maternity, and we encourage applications from people with learning disabilities or identify with being on the autistic spectrum/neurodiverse.
What will you get in return?
Successful applicants will be required to provide details of 2 referees and undertake an (enhanced) DBS Disclosure.
Please apply by filling in an application form or alternatively by sending a CV and cover letter to recruitment@grace-eyre.org . Please state clearly which volunteering job you are applying for and the location.
