Grace Eyre Homeshare Sussex is about living together, sharing everyday life and providing mutual support.
Whether you are interested in finding somewhere to live or looking for someone to share your home, find out more below.
Our Homeshare service brings together people who have a spare room and may need companionship or help to live independently with people in need of affordable accommodation who are happy to lend a helping hand.
Homeshare helps people to stay independent in the places they love to live and builds community connections. It is a safe, mutually beneficial arrangement with both people having something they need and something to give.
Grace Eyre is the Homeshare provider for Sussex, currently launched in Brighton, Hove and Worthing areas. We are part of Homeshare UK, the UK network for Homeshare providers.
Homeshare UK itself is part of Shared Lives Plus, the UK membership charity for more than 6,000 Shared Lives carers, 150 Shared Lives programmes, and a growing network of over 20 Homeshare providers.
Unlike other Grace Eyre services, Homeshare is not only for people with a learning disability and/or autism. It could suit, for example, an older person living in their own home with a room to spare, who is then carefully matched with a younger person.
Read a Q&A with David Matthews (head of service at Grace Eyre and Chair of the Homeshare UK Network) about how Homeshare works, why it matters, and the difference it’s making across the UK.
