About the event

FREE courses for people with a learning disability and autistic people to enhance daily life

Learning for Life is designed to help you increase your life skills. Through learning about yourself and others you will develop your independence, wellbeing and sense of community.

When

This course starts on Monday 20th January 2026.

You will attend a 4-hour session from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm every week for 8 weeks.

Course Information

The courses are for adults with a learning disability and/or autistic people in West Sussex who would like to improve their confidence and learn about:

  • Improving wellbeing
  • IT and communication
  • Socialising
  • Travel
  • Budgeting
  • Getting support

Courses are free to attend but commitment to attend all sessions is a requirement.

The course is led by an experienced numeracy and SEN tutor with support from Grace Eyre.

Progression Information

This course is designed to support progression into Learning for Work, which we plan to run directly after this course. Please note that attending Learning for Life first is not mandatory.

Eligibility Criteria

These courses are for people:

  • Age: 19+
  • Location: Living in West Sussex or within a 30-minute journey of the county boundary
  • With a learning disability and/or autistic people.

This is our only planned delivery under this funding, and the next opportunity is not expected until late 2026.
