Grace Eyre successfully tendered for and were awarded the contract to start working with the London Borough of Redbridge from 1st June this year.
Shared Lives is all about sharing everyday life and opening doors to new opportunities. A person who needs support is matched with a carefully approved Shared Lives carer and together, the person needing support and the Shared Lives carer share the carer’s home, family and community life.
David Matthews, Head of Service for Grace Eyre Shared Lives said:

We will be meeting and working with the local community to raise awareness of this valuable type of care, that provides high quality person centre care with people moving into a Shared Lives Carers home and living together to enjoy being part of a household, gain support to be as independent as possible and be part of their local community.”
Danyal Musa from London Borough of Redbridge said:
“Redbridge is delighted to be working in close partnership with Grace Eyre to grow our Shared Lives offer, creating more opportunities for residents to live independently, feel part of their community, and achieve better outcomes through personalised, home based support.”
Grace Eyre will be welcoming a dedicated member of staff to meet and work with the local community.
London Borough of Barking and Dagenham
Grace Eyre have been the Shared Lives provider in the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham for over 7 years.
We started a dedicated growth project at the beginning of this year and are now working through our first assessments with new carers.
David Matthews, Head of Service for Grace Eyre Shared Lives said:
“Grace Eyre has been supporting carers and people in Barking and Dagenham for over 7 years. We were recently awarded an Accelerating Reform grant from a national fund to focus on recruiting more carers for this incredibly rewarding and valuable type of support. We are already working with our first new carers to complete their assessments and get them approved to be able to provide care and support from their own homes. The people in this community will really benefit from having more choice about where they live.”
