We know that having access to your money when you need it means that you can live well at home and get out to do the things you enjoy.

Grace Eyre’s Your Money Service was set up specifically to support people to have more control and independence with their money.

What we do

Grace Eyre supports people by being their corporate appointee for benefits.

Our main goal is to support people to think about their money and their budget. We work with people to ensure that they can use their money for the daily experiences they want while saving for the future.

We know that everyone’s income and needs are different, so our support is tailored to each individual. We want people to have as much independence as possible whilst providing safeguards for their money.

In the future, we hope to start offering support as a Deputy for Property and Affairs.

How we can help

Grace Eyre is a charity that supports over 600 autistic people and people with a learning disability across Brighton and West Sussex.

In addition to supporting people with a range of needs from personal care to community involvement, we recognise that many people also need support with their money. We aim to make sure that people feel they are well supported to make decisions about their money.

With our expertise, we build relationships with each person to help them use their money so that they can live their lives the way they want.

When beginning to support people we often find:

  • incorrect benefit claims
  • difficulties with bill payments and other payments
  • incorrect financial assessments

We work closely with each individual and their circle of support to get it right, so that they have the money they need and are entitled to. Our work gives people more opportunities make as many decisions as possible themselves around how they want to spend their money.

Who we can support

The Your Money Service is available to people who:

  • receive support from Grace Eyre
  • have less than £16,000
  • do not have an alternative appropriate person who can act as appointee.

We cannot support people to manage money that comes from other sources such as wages, private pensions or trust income.

Please note that there is a charge for the Corporate Appointee service.
