We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in a recent tender for Burwash Lodge, a supported living service for adults with a learning disability in Brighton & Hove.

Following a competitive procurement process, Grace Eyre was selected as the most advantageous provider for the service and provision will transfer from Brighton & Hove City Council in early 2026.

We already have a large local presence and support over 700 adults with a learning disability and/or autistic people throughout Brighton & Hove and Sussex.  The new service is a welcome addition and we are looking forward to supporting the existing 9 residents in the Grace Eyre ethos to “live the lives they want”.

Grace Eyre’s Chairperson, Anna Cooley, stated:

“We are delighted to have been awarded this contract which gives Grace Eyre the opportunity to support more people in the city with a learning disability and make a difference to their lives through a positive, person-led approach.”

We thank all the team at Grace Eyre involved in this acquisition and all at Brighton & Hove City Council where this success adds to the strong partnership already established.

Councillor Mitchie Alexander, Brighton & Hove City Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, Equalities, Public Health and Adult Social Care, said:

“We are pleased that an organisation with such a strong commitment to supporting our residents is taking over this much valued service.  We are looking forward to continuing our positive and collaborative working relationship with Grace Eyre.

“I have met a number of adults with learning disabilities that live in supported housing run by Grace Eyre and they all talk of being happy, feeling well supported and being safe in their home.”

We are now all looking forward to a positive transfer where we welcome new staff to the charity and to begin delivering our new service in the New Year.
