Pioneer Arts @ Montefiore, formerly Montefiore Artists, look forward to welcoming you to see their latest expressive artwork, as part of Brighton’s Artist’s Open Houses festival.

This year we shine a spotlight on our featured artists with a fresh approach to displaying their diverse work in a range of media including printmaking, drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, mosaics and textiles.

All work in the exhibition is made by artists with a learning disability and autistic artists.

Our cinema room will also be showing short films, including a selection of films screened at the 2024 Oska Bright Film Festival. Oska Bright is the world’s biggest learning disability film festival held right here in Sussex.

For those wanting to get creative, we will have some craft activities, too!

The whole Artists Open House festival, which is in its 42nd year, is free to attend and will take place over four weekends in May. Organisers are delighted to be welcoming even more artists and venues this year, with over 150 venues registered to take part.

About Pioneer Arts

Pioneer Arts was established as a result of Grace Eyre’s long-standing involvement with and commitment to the creative arts. In May 2024, to coincide with the start of the festival, Grace Eyre will launch an online gallery to showcase artwork created by artists supported by Grace Eyre. Initially sharing work created by four of the artists, but with plans to expand further in future, visitors can learn more about the artists, view a selection of the diverse work and find out how to buy it.

All artwork in both the Open House exhibition and the online gallery is created by artists with lived experience of a learning disability and/or autism.
