There may be times where the police need to be notified of an incident involving a member of staff.
We have a duty to report crimes. We may be instructed to notify the police by a third party (e.g. the local authority).
We should always inform the member of staff in these types of situations and discuss the reasons with them unless we have expressly been asked not to as it would interfere with a police investigation.
