Recently, we organised an incredible day trip to Chessington World of Adventures for people we support in West Sussex.

With dedication, planning, teamwork and commitment, the Choices Western team organised and supported a group of 34 people with a learning disability and autistic people to enjoy a truly unforgettable experience.

Choices is Grace Eyre’s supported living and community outreach service. The service provides unique, tailored support for each person’s needs, so they can really enjoy living life the way they want to. We support people with a learning disability, autistic people and others with support needs to live in their own home, in one of the properties we manage and/or in the community through outreach services.

It was wonderful to see people stepping outside of their comfort zones, building relationships, smiling, laughing and having fun. The joy on everyone’s faces throughout the day at Chessington was simply amazing.

The trip was a fantastic example of what can be achieved by focusing on people’s strengths, embracing positive risk-taking, and removing barriers. It showed that there should be no boundaries on what people can achieve when they are given opportunities, encouragement and the right kind of support.

The positive impact of this trip will stay with people for a long time. Undoubtedly, it will be a be one of those special days that finds its way into many memory books.

A huge congratulations and thank you to all the Grace Eyre staff in Choices Western who helped organise and support this incredible trip. Special shout out to Christine Cox and Andy Jenkins – Team Leaders in Choices Western!
