Members of the Purple Productions events team at the Brighton Fringe Awards 2026

On Sunday 31st May, members of the Grace Eyre team celebrated the end of a successful first partnership with the Brighton Fringe at the festival’s awards ceremony at the Old Market in Hove.

Throughout May, Grace Eyre’s Purple Productions events team and the Ambassadors have helped to promote the festival, created videos talking about accessibility for its social media channels, and provided their skills for other productions.

Many members of both teams, along with others, were also involved with a show created by Jenny Good, Events Manager, ‘Not Another Group Chat!!!’, which was deservedly nominated for an award at the Brighton Fringe awards. This is especially impressive as there were over 4,000 shows on at this year’s festival!

While the show missed out this time, Grace Eyre’s Co-Chair Josh Puglia and Our Voices Co-ordinator Pagane Gacheva each presented another award and Jenny Good gave an emotional speech talking about this year’s partnership and the value of it to the Purple Productions team. She said:

“All we really want is to be independent and equal in our community as a bare minimum, and we also want to do really cool stuff like run festivals, have club nights and be in Brighton Fringe, which was always a dream of ours. Thanks to you [Brighton Fringe]…you have a given us an experience of a lifetime.”

The local partnership with the Fringe, which involved various members of Grace Eyre staff, as well as the Purple Productions team and Ambassadors, included the following:

  • providing the Purple Productions team’s skills, including lighting, sound and photography, at various events, which gave members valuable work experience and inspired new ambitions and dreams for several of them
  • creating videos, produced by and starring the Ambassadors/Purple Productions team and shared on Brighton Fringe social media channels, which provided useful accessibility information about the Fringe and explained how to get to different venues and locations
  • helping to promote the Fringe through brochure distribution, on Grace Eyre channels and via press
  • our People team successfully delivering Disability Confident training to Brighton Fringe staff, which was really well received, as part of Grace Eyre’s role as a Disability Confident Leader
  • creating adverts and copy that appeared in the Brighton Fringe brochure, on lamp posts in the city and on the Brighton Fringe website
  • and of course, both volunteers and staff taking part in Not Another Group Chat!!!

What a month!
