The government has launched the Timms Review to look at how Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is “fair and fit for the future in a changing world”. Our Voices has been gathering people’s experiences of applying for, and using PIP and feeding back to the government on this. People we support have told us for years that PIP is:

  • hard to apply for
  • the assessment form is not accessible
  • the assessment criteria excludes people with certain conditions
  • assessors often do not know about specific disabilities
  • tribunals are time consuming and stressful
  • the whole process is highly demanding and takes a long time

Stuart, Grace Eyre Ambassador says, “I’m happy they are doing it, and I’d like them to make the PIP process easier to understand”.

The call for evidence is open until 28th May – please have your say here: https://www.gov.uk/government/calls-for-evidence/timms-review-of-personal-independence-payment-call-for-evidence
