On Saturday 11th April, 30 people will represent Grace Eyre at the annual Brighton Miles event.
Brighton Miles is a 1-mile event around Preston Park. People take part by walking, running or wheeling at their own pace. The event is part of the Brighton Marathon Weekend and takes place the day before the full Brighton Marathon.
Our team includes people supported by Grace Eyre, staff, friends and family. The event is not about speed or distance, but about coming together, celebrating our community and helping to raise both money and awareness.
For some, it will be a walk in the park. For others, it will be a test of physical endurance or a way to overcome psychological barriers. Rather than a race, the event will celebrate what people with a learning disability and/or autistic people can do while raising awareness and money so that Grace Eyre can support more people to do even more.
Funds raised will go towards projects and services that help people try new things, learn new skills and be more independent.
