Want to star in a film?
We are looking for volunteers for our history film project! The film will be about learning disability history. It will also be about Grace Eyre’s history.
We are looking for 10 people with learning disabilities to help make the film. You can act in the film, help come up with ideas or get involved with filming. It’s up to you! We are also looking for some volunteers without learning disabilities to support them to do this.
Filmmaking will start in January 2021 and end sometime in March 2021. We are hoping to submit our new film to the Oska Bright Film Festival in 2021. Oska Bright is the world’s biggest learning disability film festival.
The group will work with Justin Spray, a filmmaker. Justin helps groups come up with stories that they want to tell. If you’d like to see some of Justin’s work, visit his Facebook page and his website. He has produced some great films, including Tabu, made by volunteers about a girl in an African community who struggles to get an education.
If you would like to know more, you can join a Zoom meeting on Thursday 14 January 2021 at 11:00 am. Please email us at sharingourvoices@grace-eyre.org for details on how to join. You or your carer or support worker can also email us to find out more about the project.
