Many thanks to all those who attended our Past and Future Event on Monday 25th November – when we launched our Heritage Project, as well as releasing the new plans for the re-development of our Montefiore Road building.
People enjoyed looking at the Heritage Project display with photos and documents from the past. We showed some film footage of Grace Eyre service users in the 1950s and 1960s and some people recognised old friends. It was great to see service users, staff and people from the local community enjoy looking over some of Grace Eyre’s history together.

There was a lot of  interest in Montefiore’s building plans for the future and people shared their thoughts with our deputy CEO, Chris Bland. People were invited to complete feedback forms to say how they felt about them.

Talks about Grace Eyre’s past and future took place in the evening. The Sharing Our Voices team (Jackie & Emily) showed a short film about learning disability history, and then talked about Grace Eyre’s history and the plan for the Heritage Project. Chris presented the plans for the Grace Eyre building.
It was a great turnout for such a rainy Monday and it was brilliant to get so much input from everyone, as well as people interested in volunteering for the Heritage Project! Please do email with any questions you have about the history project to sharingourvoices@grace-eyre.org
