Adults from St Nicholas Day Service in Lewes have been enjoying trying out beach tennis on Brighton seafront throughout June and July. Sandsports, in partnership with Grace Eyre and Tennis Sussex, delivered the sessions thanks to funding from the Dan Maskell Trust. This was a first taste of playing beach tennis for all the group who all enjoyed trying this new sport. Our thanks must go to the coach Paul Dent for making the sessions so much fun and supporting the group so well.
“Beach Tennis is played on a sand surface, with paddle like rackets and mini orange balls. Very easy to play, suitable for most abilities and ages. It’s great fun, a good way of making new friends, lots of diving around in the sand and laughter, a perfect way to raise your spirits and give you the feel good factor.” – Kasia, from Sandsports
“These sessions have been a huge success” said Liz Bartlett, Sports Development Project Manager, “It has been great to see the players confidence grow throughout the programme as they got used to playing on the sand”.
