On 14th February, three young adults with learning disabilities moved into a shared house in Chichester arranged by Grace Eyre, following a request to live together in shared accommodation close to their college.
In addition to finding the house, our supported living and outreach team provide the tenants with support within the home, including with shopping and cooking, as well as getting to and from college and home. And because change can be difficult to cope with, the Grace Eyre staff team offer an extension of the family reassurance their tenants already receive.
One set of parents said, “We were very impressed by the ethos of the organisation (Grace Eyre) and the degree of representation today (moving in day). We look forward to this venture to provide our young adults with independent living and thank you very much for the opportunity.”
This is just an example of the bespoke service Grace Eyre can provide and substantiates the charity’s vision for a society where people with learning disabilities are respected as equal citizens, are part of and contribute to their communities, and where people can fulfil their dreams and wishes.
