Drum roll please!

We’re really pleased and feel very honoured to have been awarded Best Open House Award in the Artists Open House Awards presented on June 20th at My Hotel in Brighton! We were chosen as best from 180 venues, amazing.
Our exhibition at 36 Montefiore Road featured a fresh and diverse range of work, including painting, printing, photography, textiles sculpture, mosaics, ceramics and knitted work! And all the work was made by artists with learning disabilities.
After a round of voting by the public to shortlist, Joe Fuller, Editor of Latest Magazine, was given the job of selecting The Best Open House. He said that the artwork was ‘affordable and approachable’, and the space ‘very welcoming’, as well as the person who greeted him! He liked the layout of the exhibition space, loved the sculptures displayed in the cabinets and all round ‘warm atmosphere’. He commented that the paintings and photography were really interesting and liked the felt tip drawings in particular. In addition to that he had heard lots of positive feedback from other visitors to our exhibition.
We’d like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who voted for us and well done to everyone involved in putting on the exhibition, as well as the other finalists and runners up. Thank you also to Lawrence Art Supplies who have invited our artists to visit their studio.
