The people with learning disabilities who use our services tell us they want to try new things and be part of their communities. Our friends at American Express were the catalyst for this when they kindly offered us some tickets for the Brighton & Hove Albion v. Burnley match back on Saturday 9th February. The offer generously included access to hospitality in the Amex before and during the match! Two people with learning disabilities supported by a couple of staff members were the lucky recipients. This is what they had to say!
‘I’d like to extend a massive thank you from the four of us that went to see Brighton play, we had an absolute blast!
The team looked after us really well and the food & drinks were lovely. The lounge itself was very posh with a great view of the pitch.
They also showed me a new inclusion room they have made specifically for autistic adults/children. It was enclosed in sound proofed glass and had comfortable seats, bean bags and sensory pads on the wall.
Shame we lost though!’

‘Tony started the day quietly and was a little unsure but by the evening we were all singing and cheering despite the score. The staff were absolutely amazing and made us all feel like VIPs. The food was faultless and the box itself was amazing! As the game drew nearer Tony began to come out of his shell and was clearly having fun being pampered in this way. We we’re looked after all day and I’d again like to thank everyone who made this possible. A truly fantastic day!’
