Earlier this year Grace Eyre won a tender to take over the running of four supported living services for people with learning disabilities, services which were previously run by Brighton & Hove City Council. We are well established in Brighton & Hove, achieved Outstanding in ‘Caring’ in our recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) Inspection and we have a highly experienced team with a wealth of knowledge in developing supporting living services – so we are delighted that we are running these services from 1st July 2017, and we warmly welcome all new staff and people with learning disabilities to Grace Eyre.
Eva Eriksson, Chief Executive of Grace Eye, says: “Grace Eyre is really pleased to have been chosen to take over the running of these services from Brighton & Hove City Council. We are strongly committed to ensure that individuals continue to receive high quality services and that our staff are supported to deliver these. We hope that with the diverse services that Grace Eyre already offers people with learning disabilities across Brighton & Hove, we will be able to give people more opportunities”.
Brighton & Hove City Council’s lead member for adult social care, Councillor Karen Barford, says: “We very much value our city’s supported living services for people with learning disabilities as they enable people to live more independently whilst empowering them to achieve their life goals.
“This would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of the staff who are supporting some of our most vulnerable service users and their families.
“Grace Eyre is a highly respected local charity and we are confident that the transfer will enable these services to continue to be delivered to a high standard.”
We kicked off the transfer in high spirits with a welcome party on Friday 30th June and we very much look forward to working with new staff, people with learning disabilities, and their families, carers and advocates to continue supporting people to fulfil their dreams and wishes.
