Grace Eyre has a long history of promoting travel independence through high quality, focused and safe travel training using local public transport and travel safety awareness. The Travel Buddy project continues this legacy.
Grace Eyre’s Travel Buddy project based at Montefiore Road in Hove provides training for individuals with learning disabilities to become independent and confident travellers whilst using public transport within the Brighton and Hove area. The Travel Buddy Project has forged strong partnerships with local schools, colleges, places of employment and we also work closely with Brighton and Hove Bus Company.
Your role will be to support the regular administrative tasks as guided by the Team Leader for Travel Buddy. You will be part of a small team of people, and you will support developing, monitoring and reporting on 1:1 based journey training, small group class activities, Drama on the Bus training and Travel Buddy workshops.
The main duties of the role include:
The equivalent of one day per week will also be allocated to supporting more volunteering opportunities and active volunteering within the Travel Buddy scheme, e.g. inducting volunteers into role and ensuring various volunteer checks are completed. This role is part time and could be worked flexibly.
