The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity that has been working with people with learning disabilities since 1898. Based in Sussex and some areas in London our mission is to work towards being led by people with learning disabilities and deliver high quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. We are currently seeking an inspiring and motivational Team Leader to join an established supported living service for adults with learning disabilities and autism, based in Hove (37.5 hours a week with some flexible working).

As well as possessing the essential criteria, the ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organised, have a positive attitude and most importantly, invested in proving excellent person-centered support. We are seeking someone who is a brilliant communicator, with the ability to bring a sense of fun into their work.

The Team Leader has the unique ability to lead and motive a team of support workers to help the people we support live fulfilling and exciting lives. With the support of the service manager, this role is ideal for someone with support worker experience who Is looking to learn new skills and make the role their own.

Essential Criteria for the role:

  • Experience of working with people with Learning Difficulties/ Autism/ Mental Health or Complex Needs.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Accurate record keeping.
  • Rota management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the delivery of person centered services to all people using the service and ensure that support is being provided in line with support plans.
  • Managing the day-to-day activities in the service, shift planning and ensuring that staff are compliant with policies and procedures.
  • Lead on the the inclusion of the tenants in their community, supporting them to make friendships, try new things and live fulfilling lives.
  • Provide emotional and practical support to the tenants and their families.
  • Provide supervision and support to support workers, to ensure effective and efficient person centered service delivery.
  • Support the Service Manager in the completion of accurate rota and timesheet information.
  • To promote and support the health and safety of both people using the service and support staff.
  • Supporting the Service Manager in planning, facilitating and record team meetings.
  • Support the team in planning, facilitating and record tenant meetings.
  • Support the Service Manager with recruitment procedures.
  • Communicate with outside stakeholders and visiting professionals.
  • Continuously develop your own knowledge and practice
