The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity that has been working with people with learning disabilities since 1898. Based in Sussex and some areas in London our mission is to work towards being led by people with learning disabilities and deliver high quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. People with learning disabilities who use our services tell us that they want “good support from kind and friendly people” – so that is what we are looking for!
Grace Eyre is looking to recruit a fun, positive and enthusiastic individual to work in a Supported Living Service, in Hove.
The role will involve supporting the individuals with all aspects of their daily living, including providing support with their personal care needs, medication, meal prep and finance. The idea candidate will be able to promote the individual’s independence by supporting them to build on their strengths and skills; enable them to access the community, and achieve their chosen goals.
The successful candidate will be required to work shifts including daytime, evenings, sleep-ins and some weekends (on a 6 week rolling rota basis). The service is a 24/7 service a minimum of 3 staff on per shift. This means that there will also be a team around to learn from, lean on and have fun with!
We welcome applicants with experience in similar roles, although experience is not everything: if you are the right person, are caring, committed and enthusiastic, we will provide all the training and development you need to become an excellent support worker. We would like to hear from experienced support workers as well as those who want to gain experience and training with an established charity in a rewarding and ever-changing sector.
Staff benefits include:
We are also:
• A Living Wage employer
• Accredited as an Investors in People employer
• Accredited as a Level 2 Disability Confident employer
Successful applicants will be required to provide details of 2 referees (one must be your most recent employer) and undertake an enhanced DBS Disclosure.
