Are you a passionate leader with a commitment to improving housing services for people with a learning disability and/or autism? We are seeking a Housing Director to join a dedicated team in a new and exciting role.

About the role:

As Housing Director you will join play a pivotal role in the growth and management of housing services. You will be working for a charity that supports tenants who have a learning disability and/or autistic people, they lease properties in Brighton & Hove, and West Sussex and believe that the charity should be led by people with a learning disability and autistic people. We are looking for a person who passionately believes the same thing!

Some key responsibilities include:

• The overall strategic development and management of Housing services within the charity
• Working with private sector housing and partnership with local councils, housing associations and other key partners.
• Contribute to the overall corporate leadership and management of the charity and the delivery and improved performance
• Provide leadership and direction to staff within the team
• Manage the service budgets
• Represent the charity within and outside Sussex, creating opportunities to enhance the charity’s image, partnerships, and services

About you:

The successful candidate will be a leader in the specialist housing field with a clear vision of how best to support the workforce and therefore people with a learning disability and/or autistic people. You will need to be a visionary and experienced Housing Director to lead the housing services and contribute to strategic growth.

Essential Skills and experience:

• Relevant Housing Management qualification
• Experience of working in the not for profit housing sector and managing multiple partnerships
• An in-depth and practical understanding of existing and pending housing legislation
• An understanding of the responsibilities associated with being a Registered Provider and the relevant legislative, professional and policy issues facing the provision of housing services
• Senior management experience within a medium organisation, with experience in leading, managing, and motivating teams to achieve high performance
• The ability to develop and manage relationships with a multitude of organisations and individuals in a positive and cooperative way
