We are looking to recruit flexible support workers on various hrs contracts to provide cover support for annual leave, sickness and training within the Active Lives service. Active Lives provides positive and meaningful activities for people with learning disabilities and autism.
These activities support people’s creativity, wellbeing, health, learning and development. You will work closely with the Active Lives Team Leaders and wider Active Lives team. You will receive a full induction and regular support & training. The majority of our activities happen on during the day from 8.45am till 4.45pm; Monday to Friday. In the future we hope to deliver some projects on evenings and weekends. These will be agreed in advance.
Brief outline of the role:
Most of our Active Lives activities and projects are delivered in our base in Montefiore Road in Hove. The support that we offer can be in small groups or individually – depending on needs and interests. We support people with issues including travel/ escorting to & from activities, medication and personal care. This role will also involve providing one-to-one support to individuals with higher support needs to access the Active Lives service. We ensure all staff are fully trained and supported with this before this occurs.
It is a rewarding and varied role and one that really makes a difference to the lives of the people we support. We really see people grow and change from the support that they receive. Having reasonable IT skills is an important part of this role.
