About the opportunity


We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help support events we're involved in. It's not just about standing and shaking a bucket - we are looking for creative ways to engage the community and raise the profile of the charity amongst the Sussex communities in which we work.

Engaging our community is the key to our continued success. So if networking and organising events is your forte, then we would love to hear from you, as there are so many different ways to get involved - both within the charity and in within your own networks.

Our events and fundraising activities are a key part of our fundraising calendar. The money they raise makes a vital different to the lives of people that we support, as well as raising the profile of the charity.

  • Supporting the Fundraising team at Grace Eyre; from supporting or running in the Brighton Full and Half marathons to putting on cake sales, pub quizzes, and organising coffee mornings.
  • Being part of an enthusiastic Fundraising and Events team.
  • Roles vary - you could be greeting and registering participants, running a race, cheering on participants at challenge events, selling charity merchandise, organising a fundraising event at work, or serving refreshments at one of Grace Eyre's events.

Skills and experience needed

  • Previous events experience is not necessary but very welcome.
  • Enthusiasm, friendliness and a willingness to get involved.
  • Being a good team player.
  • Inspiring new supporters to raise money.
  • Developing new and imaginative fundraising ideas.
  • Raising awareness of the charity and its work.
  • Supporting fundraising events

How you will be supported

You will be given an induction and training on all aspects of this role. A dedicated volunteer manager will be available to give you continuous support, advice and guidance. Other members of the fundraising team will also be able available for help and support.

Practical considerations

We ask that volunteers commit as often as possible. We can work with any kind of commitment.

Location

Our main centre is based on Montefiore Road, opposite BHASVIC Sixth Form College, in a converted church. The centre is also easily accessed by the No. 7 bus route that stops at the opposite end of Montefiore Road and is a 5 minute walk away. The role may also involve engaging and travelling within the local area.
