The Purple Club House began in June 2016. We wanted to try out putting on a regular Club Night at the Purple Playhouse Theatre. We wanted to do this because lots of people told us they needed more things to do and places to go in the evening.
We started off with 20 people coming along to each Club. The number of people coming along has grown since then – in February 2017 over 50 people came to the Club!
Our Voices Manager, Mark Richardson, says, ‘Purple Club House is great for Our Voices. We get together with lots of people with learning disabilities in a fun and relaxed environment. It gives us a chance to find out from them what they think about the work of Grace Eyre and how as an organisation we can improve to better support them to develop their skills and meet their dreams, wishes and aspirations.’
Why not visit the blog to see what people have to say about it. The next Purple Club House takes place on Friday 18th August, check out the details here: https://www.grace-eyre.org/Event/purple-club-house-august. It’s only £4 on the door!
