Our friends at Brighton & Hove Buses recently announced that the 2025 Santa Bus raised an incredible £28,070, supporting 12 local charities and organisations.
This means each Santa Bus charity – including Grace Eyre – will receive £2,339 to help fund vital work in our community.
Rupert Cox, Interim Managing Director of Brighton & Hove Buses, said:
“We are over the moon with the £28,070 raised through our most recent Santa Bus. It’s a testament to the incredible spirit of our communities and the dedication of everyone involved — from volunteers to families who came out each night to wave and donate. The Santa Bus is one of the highlights of our year, and seeing such a fantastic fundraising total makes it even more special. We’re proud to play a part in supporting the brilliant charities who work tirelessly for our city.”
The Santa Bus is an annual tradition that brings festive cheer to neighbourhoods across Brighton & Hove in November and December. Santa was aboard his beautifully decorated bus while families lined the streets to wave, celebrate, and donate to important local causes.
Debbie Pellett, Fundraising Manager at Grace Eyre, said:
“We were honoured to be one of this year’s Santa Bus charities! The money raised will go towards delivering projects that help give people the skills and confidence to live more independently in our city. Thank you Brighton & Hove Buses for the opportunity to fundraise, increase awareness of Grace Eyre and spread some festive joy to our local community.”
24 Grace Eyre staff had the amazing opportunity to volunteer on two routes: Westdene and Hangleton, giving a total of 96 volunteer hours to support this fantastic community event.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Santa Bus.
The Santa Bus initiative has raised £481,070 since it began over 2o years ago.
The Santa Bus will return next year — continuing its mission to bring joy, strengthen community spirit, and support the charities that make a real difference every day.
