Padel tennis is one of the fastest growing sports in the world.

There are more than 25 million active players in more than 90 countries and it’s growing all the time. And now you can try it in Worthing!

Usually played in doubles, Padel is played in an enclosed court. It is a mixture of tennis and squash but the balls are a little softer and a solid bat is used. It’s suitable for most people as you don’t need to run about as much as with tennis, but you still get a good workout.

Grace Eyre and Special Olympics Sussex are partnering with the West Worthing Club to host drop in Padel tennis group coaching sessions for people with a learning disability. They take place on Wednesdays, 2-3pm. The sessions are suitable for either beginners or improvers and will be delivered and led by a Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Accredited Coach.

Jem Lee, Sports Development Manager for West Worthing Club said:

“We’re thrilled to work in partnership to offer inclusive Padel sessions for adults and to make the sport more accessible to people with a learning disability. It’s a fantastic way to get active, build confidence, and be part of a supportive community”.

Sessions can be booked individually – just book each session in advance and come along ready to play. All equipment can be provided.
