Our Charter is about the people we support living their lives the way they want to, getting good support from kind and friendly people. People tell us they want to be healthy so Grace Eyre is arranging a series of talks, activities & events throughout the year to support people to keep fit, have active lives and healthy minds.
We have had a fantastic response to our plan so far! This quarter, we are focusing on the following areas, plus much more:
July – September:
Health and Wellbeing Checks
We will work with our teams and the people we support to understand the health checks they are entitled to. We’ll explore how the health service and local GP surgeries can assist in achieving the best outcomes for everyone.
Support Planning for Health
Over the next few months, we will focus on how we can support people in working towards their health-related goals. This will become an integral part of our support system. Additionally, we will explore how staff can benefit from planning for their health.
Oral Health
Supported by the local health team, we will host talks about maintaining healthy teeth and good oral hygiene.
Eat Well, Lose Weight
We will start a weekly club for those needing extra support to lose weight and eat healthier food. This friendly and supportive group will meet weekly in person and online to share recipes, hints, and tips for weight loss and healthy eating.
