We are looking for positive and motivated individuals to join our team working in Crawley and Horsham. You will be supporting individuals with learning difficulties with all aspects of daily life, including promoting independence attending activities and outings. Angel Cake Cafe Project Worker Active Lives (GE2015025)

The Angel Cake Café is looking for a Café Project Worker to carry out the day to day tasks of running a small, but vibrant café serving service users, visitors and staff of Grace Eyre. Supported by an Assistant Café Worker, you will be leading and working with a small team of volunteers and trainees with learning disabilities across the week.  You will be able to ensure a balanced range of options are on offer to customers throughout the day along with setting the example of excellent customer service for all. Based primarily at the Montefiore Road building, you will be responsible for food preparation, health and safety compliance, stock ordering, cash handling and any other related activities within the Angle Cake Café.

Shared Lives Deputy Manager Lambeth (GE2015024)

Are you looking for a new leadership opportunity in social care?

Grace Eyre a charity supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health needs are looking for an experienced and qualified social care manager to lead the development of Shared Lives in Lambeth.  The new service will be working in a highly innovative model with a range of key partners to ensure people have a diverse range of supported living opportunities within their local community.

Grace Eyre have been pioneering the Shared Lives services model for over a hundred years and really understand what benefits and lifestyle opportunities it can bring.

The role is based in Brixton but travel will be required as needed across the Lambeth area.  You must be able to work flexibly as part of a rota, including weekends and out-of-hour on-call, as required.

You will be part of a project that provides travel training and support to people with learning disabilities so that they gain self-confidence, learn the skills needed to be safe and develop the ability to travel independently across the city and county. Your main role will be to support the Travel Buddy Coordinator and a colleague with learning disabilities with communication, coordination, as well as recording and reporting progress of the project. You need to be organised and professional individual who enjoys communicating with a wide range of people in a busy office environment.  You will have a high standard of literacy and numeracy, be confident in using Microsoft Office and be able to work in a creative way including the use of social media.

Grace Eyre supports 375 people with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs to achieve their dreams and wishes. We are a Sussex based charity that is very keen to develop towards a user led organisation. We believe that as a charity we need to campaign with, work with and include people who use our services, especially in these challenging times.

Grace Eyre is working to an ambitious three year plan which includes growth, increasing our income from fundraising and trading, making our organisation as efficient as possible and to ensure we have a workforce that are skilled and committed.

To help steer this ambitious plan, new trustees are sought with experience and expertise in the following areas:

  • Social Care and Health (particularly learning disability or mental health services)
  • Housing Management (particularly social housing)

Board meetings are held 6 times per year and in addition we ask trustees to sit on one/two of our five committees/subsidiaries;

Finance & IT, Quality & Risk, Human Resources, Grace Eyre Housing and Purple Playhouse Theatre.

Relief Project Worker - Active Lives - Hove

We are looking for enthusiastic and creative people to join our bank of relief staff to help support adults with learning disabilities at our learning and development centres in Hove and in service users’ own homes and out in the community within the East and West Sussex areas. 

We have a number of roles, which involve assisting staff in the running of arts, sports & living skills sessions, supporting people to access their local community, increasing independence, providing support with welfare and benefits, increasing confidence and some personal care. 

Our Community Outreach and Supported Living serviced provide 24/7 support, so you need to be available to work at all times of the week, including sleep-ins and waking nights when required.  No closing date.

The GRACE EYRE Employment Project is currently seeking volunteer job coaches to support adults with learning disabilities into work placements.

 

Job coaches have a varied and valued role supporting adults in our work-skill sessions, travelling to and from work and in the work placement itself. In exchange for your time we offer you high quality training and the chance to be a part of a forward thinking organisation.

We are looking for minibus drivers to support our learning and development centres in Hove.  As well as having a clean current driving license (with D1 approval), you will need excellent communication skills, be able to work in a positive, respectful way with our service users and be very organised.  You may also be asked to join in and support group activities at the centre and in the community within East Sussex.  Due to insurance regulations all applicants must be over 25.  No closing date.
