Project Workers (Hove)

These positions are for project workers who will mainly based in Brighton and Hove working in either the Supported Living house in Sackville Gardens or in Outreach with individuals living in their own homes in the community. However, the successful candidates may be required to work in West Sussex as necessary.

A service user in one service is profoundly deaf and communicates using British sign language. Therefore having a qualification or experience in using sign language would be an advantage within the role.

Project Workers (Worthing)

These posts will be mainly based in West Sussex at our Boundary Close service. However, the successful candidates will be required to work flexibly in other areas including Brighton and Hove. Boundary Close in Worthing supports individuals with complex health and communication needs and autism so the successful candidate will be required to provide a high level of support with all aspect of the individual’s lives including personal care support.

Volunteer - Job Coach

The GRACE EYRE Employment Project is currently seeking volunteer job coaches to support adults with learning disabilities into work placements.

 

Job coaches have a varied and valued role supporting adults in our work-skill sessions, travelling to and from work and in the work placement itself. In exchange for your time we offer you high quality training and the chance to be a part of a forward thinking organisation.

Grace Eyre supports 350 people with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs to achieve their dreams and wishes. We are a Sussex based charity that is very keen to develop towards a user led organisation. We believe that as a charity we need to campaign with, work with and include people who use our services, especially in these challenging times.

Grace Eyre is working to an ambitious three year plan which includes growth, increasing our income from fundraising and trading, making our organisation as efficient as possible and to ensure we have a workforce that are skilled and committed.

To help steer this ambitious plan, new trustees are sought with experience and expertise in the following areas:

·         Finance & Fundraising

·         Strategic Management

·         Local Government

·         Human Resources

Board meetings are held 6 times per year and in addition we ask trustees to sit on one of our five committees/subsidiaries; Finance & Fundraising, Risk, Human Resources, Strategy and Grace Eyre Housing. Out of pocket expenses are paid.

Choices Team Leader (Crawley/Horsham)

Grace Eyre is looking to recruit a dedicated, self-motivated individual who is committed to providing high quality person-centred services for adults with learning disabilities. The successful candidate will provide management support to the Choices Manager in the operational delivery of our Supported Living services.

 

The team leader role will include management duties within the Supported Living Services which will include the supervision of staff as well as the direct support of services users. Candidates will need to be available to work at all times of the week including undertaking sleep-ins when required.

 

The successful candidate will need experience of managing, organising and leading shifts; be able to monitor services to ensure a high quality of provision; review current support and ‘move on’ plans for individual service users who are working towards greater independence.  You will need experience of working within regulated services and have a good understanding of the legislation that guides the direction of the services provided by Grace Eyre.

Volunteer Travel Buddy

The travel buddy scheme supports adults with learning disabilities travel safely and independently.  As a volunteer you would support this project and help our service users to learn new skills, raise confidence and to work towards travelling independently.

Relief Minibus Drivers

We are looking to recruit minibus drivers to support our Active Lives team in Hove. As well as having a clean current driving license (with D1 approval), you will need excellent communication skills; be able to work in a positive, respectful way with our service users and be very organised. You may also be asked to join in and support group activities at the centre and in the community.  Hours will vary depending on the needs of the service.  Due to insurance regulations all applicants must be over 25.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and creative people to join our bank of relief staff to help support adults with learning disabilities at our day services in Hove, in service users’ own homes and out in the community within the Sussex area.  The role may involve assisting staff in the running of arts, sports & living skills sessions, supporting people to access their local community, increasing independence, providing support with welfare and benefits, increasing confidence and some personal care.
