Living Skills Support Worker (GE2014055)

Working in partnership with City College, Grace Eyre’s Active Lives service is looking to recruit a support worker with experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities to develop their skills for greater independence.

In this role you will assist the session lead with the implementation of a 16 week Living Skills course aimed at supporting the learners to develop their skills in meal planning, shopping and purchasing food, food preparation, cooking and baking.

The job role will require the successful applicant work in a person centred way and assist the course lead with assessing individual’s needs, completing individual learning plans and review documentation.

In this role you will need to devise a 16 week course syllabus that will enable the learners to develop their skills in meal planning, shopping and purchasing food, food preparation, cooking and baking.

The job role will require the successful applicant work in a person centred way to assess individual’s needs, develop individual learning plans and provide an on-going review of these plans across the 16 week course.

Support Worker West Sussex Northern (GE2014052)

Are you an enthusiastic individual who is motivated and inspired to provide high quality services for people with learning disabilities? The role will involve supporting the individuals with all aspects of the daily living including providing support with their personal care needs and attending clubs ad activities. You will be a part of a team of staff working with individuals across Crawley and Horsham. In the role you will promote the individual’s independence by supporting them to build on their strengths and skills; enable them to access the community, help develop independent living skills.

Community Friendship Co-ordinator Brighton and Hove (GE2014050)

This is an exciting and innovative project that is making a real difference to people’s lives in Brighton and Hove.   The Community Friendship Co-ordinator working alongside the current Community Friendship Assistant will be responsible for the continued development of Friendship networks across Brighton and Hove.

You will be involved in training and supporting the Friendship Assistant to network with people with learning disabilities set up Friendship groups, organise social activities and help to match people with similar interests. You will need to be a good communicator, confident, enthusiastic and able to work on your own initiative. A key part of the role is working in partnership with other services in the City to develop the Friendship networks as widely as possible.

The post holder will also be responsible to collect key data and outcomes and drafting reports on the projects development for the funding authority.  You will need experience of group working, facilitation and enabling adults with learning disabilities to develop their skills for greater independence. You will also need knowledge of learning disability services and community facilities in Brighton and Hove

We are recruiting a team of two women to work as a team to a person with disabilities. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to support a person to maintain their independence following a move to Lewes, East Sussex.  Working in their own home, you will work help support morning, afternoons and evening routines, assisting with personal care, correspondence, giving a light touch with daily living skills. You need to be enthusiastic, patient and maintain a person centred approach to your work. Relief Project Worker - Active Lives - Hove

We are looking for enthusiastic and creative people to join our bank of relief staff to help support adults with learning disabilities at our learning and development centres in Hove and in service users’ own homes and out in the community within the East and West Sussex areas. 

We have a number of roles, which involve assisting staff in the running of arts, sports & living skills sessions, supporting people to access their local community, increasing independence, providing support with welfare and benefits, increasing confidence and some personal care. 

Our Community Outreach and Supported Living serviced provide 24/7 support, so you need to be available to work at all times of the week, including sleep-ins and waking nights when required.  No closing date.

Volunteer - Job Coach

The GRACE EYRE Employment Project is currently seeking volunteer job coaches to support adults with learning disabilities into work placements.

 

Job coaches have a varied and valued role supporting adults in our work-skill sessions, travelling to and from work and in the work placement itself. In exchange for your time we offer you high quality training and the chance to be a part of a forward thinking organisation.

We are looking for minibus drivers to support our learning and development centres in Hove.  As well as having a clean current driving license (with D1 approval), you will need excellent communication skills, be able to work in a positive, respectful way with our service users and be very organised.  You may also be asked to join in and support group activities at the centre and in the community within East Sussex.  Due to insurance regulations all applicants must be over 25.  No closing date.
