The Employment Project helps people with learning disabilities in Brighton & Hove build their work skills.

After an initial assesment, the project provides pre-employment skills training, then supports the individual to find a 12-week supported voluntary job. Wherever possible, we will also provide support with travel to and from work.

At the end of the 12-week period the aim is that the individual will feel confident enough to continue to do their job independently. They may stay in the job for longer, find another voluntary placement or feel confident enough to move on to paid work.

'It was useful working together with people at the café, I was able to serve drinks and run the till.' Tina, Employment Project
