View our short introductory video about Grace Eyre

Grace Eyre may be one of Brighton & Hove’s oldest charities, but we have a thoroughly modern approach to supporting people with learning disabilities.

There are lots of ways you can join our team of staff to help us make a difference. We offer good career and personal development opportunities at all levels of our organisation.

Grace Eyre offer four different services:

  • choices

Our Choices outreach team aims to support people in their own homes and the community. Staff promote independence by helping with daily living skills, as well as work, college and leisure activities, while still maintaining the individual's rights, privacy and dignity. We accept referrals made by individuals, families, carers, advocates, brokers and social care workers.

  • shared lives

Shared Lives recruits and trains carers to help people with learning disabilities in the carer’s own home. The scheme aims to match the personality, lifestyle and skills of the carer to the needs of the person with the learning disability. We provide support to the carer and monitor the service to make sure both parties are happy and safe.

  • active lives

Active Lives offers a varied range of creative and inclusive day opportunities for over 100 people. Service users are able to build their own programme of sessions based on their individual interests and aspirations. We aim to promote independence and learning through these activities as well as giving people the ability to develop new friendships.

  • housing

Grace Eyre Housing is a registered community interest company that aims to provide good quality, affordable and, above all, safe supported living accommodation for people with learning disabilities. By providing creative housing solutions, we aim to give people with learning disabilities a real choice in where and how they can live within Brighton & Hove.

In addition we also provide...

  • holidays

Grace Eyre provide a range of exciting group holidays each year and can arrange short breaks with our Shared Lives carers based across Sussex. Our Choices outreach team can also support individual short breaks and holidays tailored to service users’ specific needs and interests.

  • respite

Grace Eyre have a range of respite options for family carers based in Sussex, Brighton & Hove to cover for both planned and unplanned breaks. This can include support within the individual’s own home environment or in the family home of one of our Shared Lives carers, based across Sussex.
