Zoe has volunteered for the Hove YMCA lunch club since 2007. She likes preparing the tables, making cups of tea, and learning new skills. Zoe has a travel buddy to support her and help her remember road safety rules. Zoe enjoys working with her colleagues at the YMCA and looks forward to it every single time.

Jo has worked at the Lunch Club since 2007. She likes helping other people and thanks to her travel buddy, Jo is now able to travel to work on public transport. She has lots of experience and in the future would like to progress and try something different. Hopefully, Jo will start her new placement in September.

Toby is a volunteer for Grace Eyre for more than a year. He started to help out in sessions, such as bowling. He also contributes to maintaining the facilities and helps with the food shopping for the cafe. Just recently, Toby started paid work at the GE as a cleaner.

Now, Toby is volunteering in the new Angel Cake Café. He helps out, making teas and coffees as well as preparing sandwiches and scones. In the Monday Club and Thursday Club Toby serves teas and coffees.

Toby is also a travel buddy, and supports his trainee to travel weekly from GE to her home. He is involved in many of GE’s projects and enjoys new challenges.
