Travel Buddy Scheme

Grace Eyre support people to identify and achieve their goals and aspirations including greater independence. Our staff promote independence and put steps in place to support transitions.

The Travel Buddy Scheme supports people to travel independently on public transport as well as walking to or home from college.

Initially an individual is supported by a volunteer travel buddy who enables the individual to learn all the essential skills to use public transport and travel independently in a safe manner. The scheme provides training and support to develop a range of educational, social and personal skills necessary for a person to realise their individual potential to travel safely, increase their choices and independence.
